*This is a collaborative post on ways to make your bedroom easier to relax in

After a long day of responsibilities, whether that’s work, being a parent, a friend, a parent or a partner, there’s nothing quite like taking yourself off to bed for a good night of sleep. But, if you’ve never taken the time to feng shui your bedroom, then there’s a good chance that all your room consists of is a bed and other bedroom furniture. Your bedroom should be a room of ultimate relaxation, so why not turn it into a haven so that you can get some well deserved rest? With that in mind, let’s take a look at some ideas to help you create the ultimate adult bedroom.

Make your bedroom easier to relax in through the decor

The first thing you need to concentrate on is getting the decor right in your bedroom because if it’s not right, you’re not going to get a restful night of sleep. It’s a good idea to stick with plain or pastel colours so that you can drift off easily without any bold colours or decorations distracting you. Not only that, the colour of a room can affect your mood, so it’s always best to keep it neutral where possible.

If you do want a feature wall in your bedroom, consider placing it on the wall where your headboard sits so that you’re not distracted looking at it when you need to be getting some sleep.

Bed

Speaking of sleep, having a bed that’s comfortable to sleep in is one of the most important things you can do to get a good night of rest. And, you should never be afraid to invest in the quality of your bed. Take metal bed frames, for example; they can quickly become squeaky and disturb your sleep throughout the night if you turn over. You’re better off going for solid wood beds and a high-quality mattress to make sure you’re getting a restful night of sleep.

TV

Lots of people disagree with having a TV in their bedroom, but it could actually help when it comes to falling and staying asleep. If this is something you struggle with, consider buying a firestick so that you can cast sleep sounds and lights from YouTube to help you fall into a cosy slumber. And, when all you want to do is lounge in bed, at least you can still keep up with your favourite shows!

Make your bedroom easier to relax in through other additions

Finally, a bedroom is often used for simply that; getting some sleep. But, it can actually be a room that you grow to enjoy spending time in. In time, your bedroom might be a place to get ready for a night out with the girls or listen to music in the morning while you’re preparing for work. Consider adding things like:

Essentially, the more personal you make your bedroom, the more relaxing you’ll find it. In turn, you’ll get the best night sleep you’ve ever had.
