It might not feel like it most days, but we’re slowly making it towards Spring time. And I will admit I’m struggling with choosing clothes at the moment as I’m 20 weeks pregnant. So half of my wardrobe is too tight, or just plain uncomfortable. So it was time to think about refreshing my wardrobe in time for Spring.
I knew I wanted some practical everyday items ideally that I could wear everyday. And thankfully Cotton Traders had some great items in their new in section.
Yes the first item I picked up when thinking about refreshing my wardrobe in time for Spring were some black trousers, but hear me out. You can’t go wrong with a really practical everyday pair of black trousers. You can pair it with pretty much anything, and it’s super practical to use as workwear.
These are the super-stretchy pull-on slim leg trousers* (£32) which are insanely practical if you’re pregnant. Although who am I kidding I like stretchy pull on items at the best of time. This pair of trousers are also super practical with two front pockets, perfect for my phone.
The stretchy fabric means they aren’t uncomfortable around my bump (at the moment). There’s plenty of room in them on the days I’m feeling bloated or just a bit meh. And being pull on means they’re super easy to put on and there’s no digging in of buttons or zips. I always used to be a skinny leg trouser gal, but I’m finding slim leg more comfortable and flattering for me.
Just because we’re seeming to head into Spring doesn’t mean it’s all that warm. One thing I’ve found during this pregnancy so far is that my body temperature changes all the time. One minute I’m freezing, and the next I’m so warm. So layering is so important for both when I’m out-and-about, but also at home.
To go alongside my super practical black trousers I opted for the cotton crew neck jumper* (£32) in lilac. To me pastel colours just scream Spring and Easter time, and the lilac is one of my favourites. You can also get it in a cornflower blue, a pink and a beautiful green.
As it’s made from cotton it’s washed really well and I know it’s something that’s going to last. It’s slightly stretchy rib to the neck, cuffs and hem so it’s really comfortable with a big of stretch for my growing body.
Soft and stretchy pull on denim, need I say more?! The jersey denim pull-on midi skirt* (£36) comes in a whole host of different denim colours, and both a midi and maxi length. I opted for something a little different and picked up the vintage rose colour, as denim doesn’t always have to be blue.
I love denim, but jeans during pregnancy aren’t really practical, but this skirt gives me my denim fix without the discomfort. Just like the trousers it’s stretchy and just pulls straight on, and it has ribbed elastic on the back waistband for ultimate comfort.
I love these. I’m self-employed now, but when I had to go to an office, I was always trying to strike a balance between comfort and business-appropriate.
Yeah it can be hard to find that middle ground x
These are so cute…I can’t wait for Spring, your post made me daydream a bit lol…I miss Spring.
Refreshing the wardrobe for the Spring season will be my first priority thing to accomplish this weekend. Thanks for these valuable tips!
Congratulations!! It sounds like you have gotten to the stage when a new wardrobe is needed with the growing bump. The more give in them the clothes the better as they’ll help see you through a few of the months hopefully. Love the lilac crew neck!!
I’ve been trying to be picky with what I pick up so I’m not wasteful but you’re so right about things with a bit of give in them x
Beautiful colors and awesome duets. The pants would go with anything, really. Love the lavender blouse.
Refreshing your wardrobe for spring always feels like a smart move. Swapping out heavier pieces for lighter ones makes everything feel fresher. ♥
Yep, I’m definitely needing to layer more so that’s important x
Yea correct denim doesn’t have to be always blue I love that colour. That’s a nice pieces for spring. It’s summers here and I need to remove some lighter clothes too.
I wish it was a bit warmer here, but we’re slowly getting there x
I do not think I have ever seen a denim skirt NOT in blue! What a fun switch.
I am so looking forward to spring. I love stretchy pants, too. They are just so comfy.
Oh, I think refreshing one’s wardrobe for spring is fun (as well as refreshing one’s decor). Out with the old, in with the new.
I’d love to refresh some of our decor, but we have so many projects on the go haha x
Some lovely choices here, and I love picking denim that is a different colour to blue. I can’t believe that it will be spring soon, so time to revamp the wardrobe for sure.
I haven’t heard of Cotton Traders before, and I’ll have to check them out. These look like nice pieces, and definitely something I would wear to work. The pants and sweater are a great outfit for me at work.
Yeah sometimes it can be hard to mix comfort while also looking professional for work x
I am still waring my winter clothes as I am so cold every day! Can’t wait for warmer days.
