I don’t have baths anywhere near as often as I’d like but when I do I like to go all out and I use all the products I can get my hands on as it makes it feel more luxurious.
I bought a new wooden bath caddy as my other one was getting a bit old and I wanted one with more slots and use in it. The new caddy I bought was really reasonably priced from Amazon and has so many great spaces including a tablet/ book holder with different slots to adjust the angles, a smartphone slot, somewhere to put a candle or a glass and a sliding utility tray which I tend to use for a face mask or other beauty products.
When I’m in the bath I love having everything close by so I can occupy myself with beauty products, watching YouTube videos or reading a book so this bath caddy is so useful for that and there’s so many different variations on Amazon for similar prices.
The first thing I do when I start running a bath is throw a sprinkling of bath salts or magnesium flakes as I find that the flakes are so relaxing as the minerals aid muscle relaxation, help to relieve tension and aid with the health of your skin. Harper Bazaar Beauty Awarded these BetterYou Magnesium Flakes named the product ‘best for total relaxation’ and low levels of Magnesium is associated with poor sleep, migraines, anxiety and depression and this is one of the easiest ways to increase your levels.
Himalayan bath salts are also great for soothing the muscles and when you’ve got aches and pains so that’s another one to keep on hand when my body is in the need of some pampering.
The next thing I usually add to my bath are some of these bath melts from Our Little Bee’s. I’ve tried quite a lot of bath melts including the one’s from Lush and I find the one’s from this brand are so much better as they actually make my skin super soft when I get into the bath.
These bars are just £5 and I tend to use one line of the bar which means you get six baths out of one bar so they last really well. I love the scents as well and the citrus one is my favourite as it’s so fresh although if I need a proper relax the Lavender one is a better option.
Next up is some bath oil and I’m currently using the Olverum Bath Oil which is really relaxing when added into the bath. It’s really concentrated so you don’t have to use much in the bath so mine’s lasted really well as I’ve had it for a few months.
I always find that putting oils, melts and soaks into the bath really makes the water feel soft and it makes sitting in it for half an hour or so a lot more relaxing.
The final thing I put into a bath is a bath bomb as I love to see the colours slowly fizz up just before I’m going to jump in. Now of course Lush were always my go to and I have such a collection of their bath bombs to use up but I am finding that they seem to be ever increasing in price so I’ve branched out and tried quite a few other brands such as Miss Patisserie from Boots and ones from Bomb Cosmetics as they’re just as bright and colourful but they work out so much cheaper especially as I use a whole one in each bath.
I am a huge fan of the brightly coloured bombs, ideally the citrus ones as I just find them a bit more fun when adding into the bath.
I don’t tend to use a body scrub in the shower as I find them quite messy and just harder to clean up when I’m in the shower so I tend to opt to use them when I’m in the bath. Most of the ones I’ve seen or tried have been coffee scrubs but I’m really not the biggest fan of the smell of coffee so I’ve been using ones which are scented like the mint temptation version from Scrub love.
If I don’t use a scrub then this is the time that I exfoliate my body which I’m going to admit to not being the best at.
A bath wouldn’t be complete without a face mask. I tend to use sheet masks as a quick fix during the week or when I’m watching the telly so I go for full on face masks when I am in the bath. Glam Glow tend to be my go to as I find it easier in the bath as this is a peel off mask so I can just peel it all off when the time is up as opposed to having to wash it off as no one wants to have bits of face mask floating in their bath water.
At the moment I’m using the GravityMud Firming Treatment as it’s lasted quite a long time but I’m keen to try one of the My Little Pony glitter masks because who doesn’t want a pink glittery face?!
