I Didn’t Know I Needed A New Pillow Until Now

Over the years I’ve had quite a lot of pillows and I’ve never been shy about spending a reasonable amount of money on them as like a mattress they’ll help ensure you have a good night’s sleep from memory foam to duck feathers. We’ve mixed and matched so much I thought that we had a reasonably winning combination, that is until I was sent a Leesa pillow* and started using it.

Anyone who read my blog before will know how much I love my Leesa mattress and to be honest, I had no idea that they did a pillow until they emailed me about it. Pillows are just as important as a mattress as having a good one can prevent neck and backache and give you a much better sleep so Leesa worked on the pillow as much as the mattress taking years to develop with hundreds of prototypes.

Much like the mattress, the pillow helps to regulate your temperature and be cool, giving you a better night’s sleep as being too hot as one of the worst things when it comes to trying to sleep. The pillow features an innovative textile called Outlast® which helps to chill one side of the pillow allowing you to drift off to sleep easier, and this textile was actually designed for NASA which is pretty damn cool (literally).

For me, the hardest part about sleeping is if I’m at the wrong temperature and usually that’s with the heat. Before I got together with Luke it was the complete opposite and generally, I’d always be cold but he is like a radiator so now I do everything I can to keep cool so this technology has been a game-changer for me as it doesn’t feel hot and tacky like other pillows can be in the heat.

One thing which I hate about other pillows is how flat they can go after you’ve slept on them a few times and you’d need to fluff them, but with the Leesa pillow, you don’t need to do this as it has a combination of foam and fiber so it keeps its shape and structure. The fact that it keeps ti shape means that your neck and spine will stay aligned regardless of your sleeping position which is great for me as I like to relax in bed and chill while laying on my back but actually sleep on my side so having something which has been super comfortable for both is great.

The pillow is made from a combination of premium micro-fiber filling which gives it that soft, squishy feeling when you rest your head down but with a supportive memory foam layer in the middle so it holds your head and neck and keeps it comfortable and supported. It’s amazing how much difference this makes once you’ve slept on it.

Generally, I’d replace pillows every 18 months or so as they’d go flat or start to become uncomfortable but due to the anti-clumping and style of the internals of the pillow it’s likely I won’t need to replace it that soon, although I’ll have to report back in 18 months to be sure. As they’re likely to last longer and they feel so much more comfortable to sleep on I think this justifies the £79 price tag that each pillow has, so much so that Luke’s been very jealous of mine so we’re going to need to invest in one for him.

What kind of pillows do you have?

Right now I am in the market for a good pillow, all my previous ones have been disappointing. I have the Leesa mattress so I can imagine what the pillow might be like.
