Future Home – Bathroom Inspiration

AD - This is a collaborative post but all thoughts and opinions are my own

I’ve been doing these inspiration posts for a few months now having already tackled the bedroom and kitchen. Now it’s the turn of the bathroom. Obviously without knowing the layout of whatever house we choose this might slightly change but these are more my dream ideas.

In an ideal world, I’d love to have underfloor heating in the bathroom which would be a godsend in the winter. But a vertical radiator would be perfect as a space-saving option to keep towels warm. As they’re vertical they take up a lot less space so it wouldn’t take a whole wall out of action. If we opt for underfloor heating then we’ll need to get a plumber in to help with the installation of insulation and pipe lagging. This is the one area of DIY/ renovations which Luke just isn’t as comfortable and experienced in.

Bathroom wishlist: Downstairs toilet

I’d love to have the main bathroom upstairs with a small toilet and sink downstairs to avoid all the stair climbing. In the main bathroom, I’d love a separate shower area to the bath as I much prefer it. Plus having had these separate in my flat it’s something I am used to. Shower wise like the left picture I would love to have more of a wet room style without a cubicle so the water can just drain down and it means it’s more open and less claustrophobic.

sinks with storage

Bathroom wishlist: Large bath

Bath wise I’d love to have a reasonably wide/ big one so me and Luke can enjoy the odd bath together, something my flat’s bath just won’t allow. I’ve pinned loads of images of baths where the taps are attached to the wall as I think is more practical so they don’t dig into you. But I’d also love a shower style hose somewhere in the corner just to make cleaning up after baths easier because bath bombs and melts can get pretty messy!

One of the most important things for me in the bathroom is storage as I’d love to store as many of my spare/ additional products in there as possible. I love the sizing of those in the far left image (plus how amazing is the green/ blue colour) but the grey is possibly a more practical size.

Bathroom wishlist: His and her’s sinks

In an absolute dream world, I’d love to have a double ‘his and hers’ style sink situation again like the far left image, but few bathrooms are really big enough for this. Having a double sink would mean so much room and it would allow me and Luke to do things at the same time. Like me doing my skincare and him washing his teeth so we wouldn’t be stepping on each other’s toes.

Style wise I absolutely love the sink with gold detailing in the far right image as I think it looks so sleek and stylish. Having a small shelf under the mirror would mean not having to pile things up on the sink itself like toothbrushes, toothpaste and other essentials.

bathroom storage

Bathroom wishlist: Lots of storage

Following on from my storage want I’d love to have a little more than just what’s under the sink but again this is going to be dependant on space.

I love the way the shelves in the left-hand image have been labelled and organised although I do think I’d love to have some of my pretty bottles out and the rest inside cabinets and cupboards. The circular shelf is such a nice addition as it means you can display just a few things and keep them separate such as succulents/ plants and candles which are always nice to have in the bathroom.

What do you love to have in the bathroom?

It seems like we have similar tastes! I hope that my next bathroom is bigger, with a claw tub or at least a walk-in shower with a beautiful backsplash.

My dream bathroom is one that is huge with a door that opens into a walk in closet. I would like lots of stylish and functional storage spaces and a double sink would be nice too.
