January Roundup – How Month One of 2019 Has Been

February 1, 2019
Christmas car in Covent Garden

Any regular readers to my blog may have wondered where my five things posts have disappeared to over the past few weeks. For almost 3 years I posted five things every single week (Sunday/ Monday) talking about what I’d done in the week behind and although I loved these posts I wanted a fresh start in 2019 and felt they were getting a little stale.

For this reason, I’ve decided to do monthly round-up posts talking about some of the places I’ve been, items I’ve bought, great and not so great things to happen in one place. It’s a nice way to reflect back on the month and it means I can just put in the totally awesome stuff as opposed to feeling like I need to fill at least five things every single week.

The places I’ve been in January

The great things from January

Walkabout Watford

The not so great things that happened in January

Considering January can be considered a pretty rubbish month, you’ve done lots! And we have similar birthdays too – I’m the 16th of Jan! šŸ™‚ I’m experiencing a similar experience with Slimming World right now – just cannot shift my Christmas gain, boo!

I love escape rooms, they are great fun. I’ve done a few with my husband and son but only managed to get out of one in the time. I’m hoping to see a show by Cirque De Soleil in Vegas, can’t wait!

Sounds like January was a good month. My husband always takes me for a steak dinner on my birthday. I did some decluttering as well. So sorry to hear about the passing of you friend.
I hope your February goes well and that the packing of your flat goes smoothly.

I have hit a slump in the freelancing world too. I was hoping that would have ended in December of 2018 but unfortunately, some of that slump was carried over onto the first month of this year. Hopefully we get to have more opportunities in the months to come.

Sounds like you have had a great month. But for me maybe Jan wasn’t good as I have been suffering like heck.

  17. David Elliott says:

This just reminds me I really need to go to a Cirque Du Soliel. I would love to visit one soon. I hear they have one in Vegas. That looks great.

  18. Jennifer Prince says:

What a fun month! I’ve always wanted to Cirque de Soleil, but I have not yet. I am envious that you did. Sounds like so much fun!!
