Saturday Afternoon Party Vibes At Reggae Brunch – Review

Me at Reggae Brunch

*We were given provided with a complimentary tickets to Reggae Brunch
for an honest review, so all thoughts and opinions are my own

Brunch in itself is my favourite meal of the day because it’s acceptable to have breakfast food. But it’s also acceptable to each a full on meal. And it’s perfectly acceptable to have an alcoholic drink…. or five. If you walked past FEST in Camden at 11.55am last Saturday you’d rightfully have been confused. A massive queue of mainly women were standing dressed up clutching paper printed tickets for something. It could only be Reggae Brunch!

Reggae Brunch is a pretty unique concept, each Saturday an event pops up at a secret location which is only disclosed the Tuesday before the event and from 12pm until 5pm a party takes over where ever you are. I love the idea of the location changing as it means you can go back multiple times and have completely different experiences every time.

Unlimited rum punch at Reggae Brunch

Free rum punch

The reason everyone was so diligent with the time is that from 12pm-1pm it’s unlimited free rum punch and no one is going to say no to glass after glass of orange rum punch. I’m sceptical about how much alcohol was actually in the punch but it was super tasty and after around 8 top ups I did start to feel it going to my head, although that was probably because I hadn’t yet eaten anything that day. Thankfully you didn’t always need to battle your way to the bar for a top up there were people walking around with punch which I can tell you didn’t last long. FEST itself was absolutely rammed. The actual event sold out and it seems this is a common theme as the next few week’s of events were also sold out.

Fest in Camden where Reggae Brunch was held

After the rum punch hour ended a larger room was opened and you took your seats ready for the next 4 hours of food and partying. Everyone was given a table number at the start so you knew where you were going. But no one really minded about their seats. From the second the DJ started up everyone was up dancing and having the time of their lives. Between 1pm and 3pm you were given a three-course meal from Cotton’s. You can choose from a vegan, vegetarian or meat option (although it seems only the main really changes up).

What was the food like at Reggae Brunch

We didn’t actually get our starters until about 1.45pm and I was blooming starving. But the vegetable fritter’s were really tasty and filled a small hole until the main’s. I actually opted for the veggie option as it was halloumi and roasted veggies with rice and peas, dumplings and coleslaw and the whole meal was so tasty. As everyone got their food at different points – kudos to the team for being as quick as possible – it did mean that there wasn’t a period where everyone was just sat down and eating which kept up with the amazing vibe of the event.

Me and my friend at Reggae Brunch

I’m not a huge one for dancing but even I found myself dancing around in my seat. Despite not knowing a large majority of the tracks. It felt like a huge party. People dancing on the stages, drinks poured down people’s throats and a lot of twerking. Such a weird sensation when you walk out of the venue and it’s still the middle of the afternoon. Everyone else just getting on with their normal Saturday’s.

I think this would be great for a birthday or hen party as you can pre-book a party package. This includes bottles of prosecco to save you from going to the bar too often. And it’s a proper party atmosphere without having to worry about doing a night out and how everyone would get home. Plus if you’re not local to London there are events in Bristol, Manchester and Birmingham. So no excuse not to party.

Have you ever been to a brunch event?

Love the concept of not knowing the location and it being a secret pop up. I would love to attend an event like this.

What a fun sounding event! How cool is the idea that it just pops up somewhere secret, imagine just stumbling upon it that would be so much fun!

What a great idea, I love the secret location idea. Wish they did something like this near me. Do you think you were dancing as the rum punch was stronger than you first thought lol ?

This sounds amazing. Love the excitement and secrecy of changing locations and it not being disclosed until close to the event. They never have anything like this near me, downside of living in rural Wales, and I feel like I am missing out!

This sounds like such a good place to have an event. I hate events where it’s awkward, so the ultimated punch sounds amazing. Xx
