April 2019 Round Up – Easter And Beyond

April was the first full month we’ve spent living at home and I’m going, to be honest other than never having enough space (mainly for clothes) it’s really not been a big deal. We have plenty of our own space to relax, and we’re not on each other’s toes so it’s been quite nice. This has been my first month of full-on saving which has been great as it’s nice to see real progress being made in our accounts.

April saw a bit of family time with my Dad’s birthday near the beginning where all the family got together, then over the Easter weekend, we spent a day with Luke’s parents which was really nice as I hadn’t seen them since before our holiday. I probably spent more time at home this month than I had in ages which I think my body needed. I was able to practice some more self-care, put on some more face masks and finally do a proper sort through of my clothes which was well overdue.

Movies and live music

Me and Luke finally started taking more advantage of my Cineworld card in April with trips to see Dumbo, Shazam, Hellboy and the Avengers double bill at midnight. As we’ve paid for our annual cards I’m really keen to keep taking advantage of it and seeing movies I both would and wouldn’t have usually seen. Shazam was a real standout from a DC point of view and it was nice seeing a superhero truly loving his powers. And of course, Avengers was incredible as I fully expected it to be.

I had a lovely day in London with my friend in the middle of the month where we had afternoon tea and just wandered the streets of London. On 17th I dragged Luke in to see Dream State in Camden which I had lots of fun at. I had to bride him with a trip to Hache Burger which is one of his favourites.

Nights out and days in London

I had a few nights out of drinking this month which is quite unlike me. It started off with a night out with my team at work to a bar in Camden where I drank a few too many gins. But I had lots of fun. It was also one of my best friends birthday’s at the end of the month so a bunch of us went around hers for dinner and drinks.

Easter was so late this year but to be honest I was so thankful when the long weekend rolled around as I was in much need of some time off work. I spent one day in London exploring, enjoying the sunshine and going to see Rip It Up at the theatre. Then the rest of the days just being a bit of a homebody doing some life admin, work and relaxation.

How was April for you?

Loving the idea of the annual cinema pass, a great way to enjoy a new film or two – I’ve still not seen the new Avengers film

It’s so good as it can save a lot of money compared to paying each time. I definitely wouldn’t have gone to the cinema as much without it x

I love that you had to bribe him with a burger, that made me laugh. My husband would expect exactly the same. Sounds like a fab easter!

    • Rhian Westbury says:

He’s just too lazy to go out into London in the middle of the week so food usually helps x
