AD – I was invited to experience the Brigit’s Bakery afternoon tea
by Buyagift. But all thoughts and opinions are my own
Afternoon tea is one of my favourite things to do in London. The city has such an incredible range of great different themed afternoon tea’s. And who doesn’t love essentially brunch full of lots of mini foodie items?
Buyagift is a brand I have used a lot over the years, especially for afternoon teas. They have so many great offers, especially now it’s afternoon tea week so make sure you check them out here. Brigit’s Bakery has a brick and mortar store in Covent Garden. But it’s their double-decker bus afternoon tea which has been on my London wishlist for quite a while. So when I got the invite through to join them just before afternoon tea week I was very excited.
The unique thing about this afternoon tea is you don’t stay static. The bus drives around for about 90 minutes so you get to see some of the city’s best sights. And still, eat some yummy food. We were picking up the bus from No 8 Northumberland Avenue just off from Trafalgar Square. But they also do a route which picks up from Victoria if that side of London is easier. The vintage bus was pretty hard to miss when I turned onto the road and it was stunning.
As it’s a traditional bus the seats were a little cramped, especially if you’re on the larger size like me. But once I’d sat down that was it I wasn’t going anywhere. The route of the best itself goes around Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Westminister Abbey, Hyde Park, The Royal Albert Hall, Marble Arch and so much more.
Alongside the journey, there’s a pre-recorded guide to explain where you are. But in typical blogger/ influencer fashion we spent far more time talking so we couldn’t hear the guide too well.
The food was set up when we arrived with a complete mixture of savoury treats. The salmon pretzel with cream cheese was definitely my favourite. Then the top tier was filled with a mixture of beautiful cakes, so bright and colourful.
The restraint we had to have just to finish taking photos before digging in was huge. But I can report back that they were incredible, and you could taste how fresh they were. I loved them so much that there was no chance I was taking any home with me.
In the normal afternoon tea, you get fresh scones at the end but sadly this wasn’t part of our experience so I can’t comment on them. But scones are always amazing aren’t they?! Although are you a jam first, or cream first kinda person? I’m a cream first kind of gal! While the bus itself is a little unstable there are drinks holders on the table meaning when your tea (or prosecco) arrives you have a safe space for it.
We started with a glass of prosecco which was lovely and then moved to tea. When you do the bus afternoon tea you get your tea in a takeaway mug which is yours to keep when you leave. I thought this was such a nice touch and means I’ll always remember my yummy afternoon.
If you’re looking for an afternoon tea which is a little bit unusual, or it’s your first experience of London then this may be right up your street. Prices start from £45 for adults and £35 for children.

Oh my goodness, I LOVE the sound of this. At first I thought it was just an afternoon tea on a bus which would be fab but getting to see all the sights around London too – amazing!
Yeah, and the views are so nice, especially if you book upstairs x
I love afternoon tea! This sounds like such a fantastic experience – and I love that you got to take the travel mug home with you!
it’s such a nice little touch to let you keep it x
Tea like that sounds good to me! the sweets looked good and then I saw those pretzel rolls and almost drooled on my keyboard.
I did this a few years back as my first ever blogger event! It was so much fun and I really enjoyed the treats. Sounds like you enjoyed it as well 🙂
This looks perfect for our next trip to London! I’ve never done a double decker bus tour but was planning to with the kids next visit. Love that we can do it and have afternoon tea at the same time!!
Two of the best things in one; sightseeing and afternoon tea x
OK now this looks like the best way to celebrate afternoon tea week. Those cup cakes look delicious – I would love to be able to reach through the screen and take one.
That sounds like the best afternoon tea! I love BuyaGift for slightly unusual presents. All those cakes look incredible!
I love afternoon tea and London so combining both would be fab!
I do love BB’s afternoon tea, we enjoyed many moons ago and still love going back to them.
That looks like such a fun way to do afternoon tea
I do love the idea of afternoon tea while you look at the sights of London. That’s something a bit different.
