When I was younger the concept of a Christmas eve box didn’t exist. But me and my brother would always get new PJ’s on Christmas eve so we could wake up in them on Christmas morning. Over the past few years, Christmas eve boxes themselves seem to have become a thing. I’ve seen a lot of Christmas eve boxes which are aimed at kids, but I wanted to show that they don’t have to just be for kids.
I got this beautiful Personalised Wooden Christmas eve box* (From £24.99) as the starter to create my Christmas eve box. The box itself can be personalised with any name with any colour on so you can make it truly personalised. The box is made from all-natural wood meaning it’s one of those things that will last for years to come. I was really impressed with how sturdy the box felt and how big it was to fit in some lovely gifts.
Every family has their own tradition, and I think it would be nice as a family box. You could add in a movie to watch on Christmas eve, some chocolates and sweeties to munch on and maybe some new fluffy socks for everyone to get cosy. I opted to get one for Luke so I can start a new Christmas tradition for us. And I know that it’s going to be one of those things which come out year after year.

For me, Christmas eve is a great time to do some pampering. So I’ve got a few items which fit into this category and would be good to get yourself Christmas Day ready. T-Zone does some great peel-off masks like the Glitter Mask in Black* (£2.99) and the Holographic Peel- Off Mask* (£2.99).
I love these peel-off masks as there’s a lot less mess than some other masks. And who wants something messy on Christmas eve?! The black glitter mask is designed to boost the glow of your skin. This will help your skin be more vibrant and glowy which is just what you want for Christmas. While the holographic one is about skin balancing to unclog pores and draw out impurities. So this one is perhaps better for the new year when you’ve been eating and drinking for a week.
It wouldn’t be Christmas without a shimmery nail and these Leighton Denny Varnishes* (£12) are just what you need. I have Clutch Bag which is the rose gold, it’s shiny, shimmery and a modern twist on the traditional gold glitter. Then there’s also Kinky Boots which is an amazing blue/ purple shimmer shade.
These varnishes are so easy to apply, and even for a nail painting novice like me, the application was so smooth. It’s designed to be self-levelling which I could see as my painting looked smooth and not clumpy. And I usually end up with clumpy looking nail varnish. These dried really quickly so if you’re doing a quick colour change on Christmas eve you won’t have to sit letting them dry for hours.

A final part to the pampering section of the Christmas eve box would be good body lotion. I don’t use body lotion enough but when I’m less busy (such as around Christmas) it’s a great chance to buck the trend. And during these colder winter months, it’s even more important. This Disney Winnie the Pooh Body Balm* (£8.99) is my choice as it’s both novelty with the cute Winnie the Pooh illustration on the jar. But it’s also a beautiful body balm.
It has a light honey and orange blossom scent which is fresh and not too overpowering. And the cream itself is thick and moisturising but not sticky. So a great treat for your skin to lather on before bedtime so it can sink in and leave your skin nourished for Christmas.
I’m not usually a hot drink fan, but Christmas is an exception and I love to have a good quality hot chocolate in my hand. I think doing a hot drink bundle is a great idea for Christmas eve boxes. All you need to start with is a great mug like this BrewBacca Mug* (£9.99) from Firebox. Then you can fill it with tea, coffee, hot chocolate or whatever warm drink the person would like.
This mug is great for any Star Wars fan and is a great size for a decent cup of tea/ chocolate *insert other hot drink here*. The handle is 3D but despite it being textured it’s really comfortable to hold.
If you’re going to get a mug then it makes sense to buy a nice hot drink to go with it. And this festive dark roast coffee* (£10) from Whittards is a great choice. I don’t know if it’s just me but things in tins always look fancier and more expensive. And this rose gold tin would be great to use after you’ve drunk all your coffee.
As it’s a festive blend it has warming spices like orange and a slight hint of chocolate that comes through. I used to think chocolate tastes in coffee was a strange blend, but it really works. You can make a good gift with this, a mug and some chocolate or biscuits.
Seeing as it’s Christmas you may want to push the boat out a little and have an alcoholic tipple. This Bottle N Bar Orange Gin* (£12) set is great for a Christmas eve treat. The set comes with a small bottle of Orangery Premium Orange Gin. Citrus gin is my favourite and this is both sweet but sharp. The bottle comes with a handcrafted single-origin Columbian chocolate covered in crushed almonds and orange peel.
It’s such a nice little indulgence to treat yourself to on Christmas eve. It’s up to you if you want to share it or not though! And if gin isn’t really your thing there are sets with whisky, rum and so much more.
I love the idea of getting something for the family to do together on Christmas eve. Sometimes I opt for board games or a quick card game, but a great addition to your family Christmas eve box would be this Harry Potter Hogwarts Express 3D Jigsaw Puzzle* (£29.99).
The iconic steam train from the movie comes in the form of a 460 piece 3D puzzle. I’ve never done a 3D puzzle but I love how great the train looks. It’s so detailed for a puzzle which I love and this would be such a great family bonding treat to do on Christmas eve. We spend so much time using technology and being glued to our phones. But this means you can all sit around together and be more in the moment.

I am a huge reader and having a good book to curl up with on Christmas eve is a must. It means I can relax and let go without feeling like I’m reliant on using technology. It’s always nice to switch off a little bit over the festive period.
Making Happy Work* (£9.99) is a book all about how to navigate the world of meditation. So great for the relaxing and unwinding part of Christmas. Mick Timpson is a meditation teacher and there are eight parts of the journey of meditation which the book guides you through. The book is aimed more for beginners and goes through the sections stage-by-stage with easy-to-use practices and activities.
