Festivities And Christmas Planning – November 2019 Overview

I can’t believe I’m sat here on the last day of November writing this post as we enter the final month of 2019. And the final month of this decade. It’s been an amazing year so far and it’s still not over with December set to be even more amazing. December is going to bring us a lot of fun as not only it is the most magical time of the year but it’s when our house hunt begins. We’re going to start by driving by houses to see if we want to view them based on location and the outside. Then we’re going to organise viewings and finally look at some furniture. The Boxing Day sales should help us pick up a few things in advance like a TV or some bed stuff for the spare bedroom like those from Bed Guru.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, here’s a breakdown of some of the things I got up to in November.

Anniversary weekend away

On 9th November me and Luke celebrated our 3 year anniversary. Without sounding too mushy the last 3 years have been some of the best yet. But I can’t believe how quickly the time has gone. We decided to go away for a long weekend to Vienna and have a nice relaxing few days away. I’ve written a post about some of my favourite things to do in Vienna coming up later this month. But it was basically full of sightseeing tours, a massage and plenty of food. Pretty much my perfect trip.

All the meals out

I’ve had another pretty jam packed month of meals out. It started with a meal and cocktails with one of my besties at the start of the month. Then after we came back from Vienna me and Luke headed to Marco Pierre White Italian near London Bridge for another meal to celebrate.

Then I had a few very early Christmas meals. One with some current and ex work friends at a local Indian which was great. And another with my mum and some of her school friends two days later at an Italian by us. On the one day in between the Indian and the Italian I was invited to the press evening at the Red Lion Pub in Welwyn. My post about this one goes live next week, and if you’re local make sure you check it out.

Festivities

The very start of the month began at Alexandra Palace for their firework display with some friends. I remember watching this display a few years ago with a friend who has sadly passed away. So it was full of lots of fun memories which as nice.

I had my annual Christmas shopping trip with my Nan at the start of the month as well. She always like to take me out so she can buy me some clothes at Christmas. And it’s a good excuse for us to have a wander around the shops and go out for food. A tradition I hope we can carry on doing for a while to come. The start of the month carried on with more festivites as I headed to the Spirit of Christmas fair at the Olympia with my mum. There were so many stalls selling amazing goodies. And the food and drink section was my favourite, I managed to pick up some good presents there.

I’m really happy that by the last day of November I’ve bought all my presents, written all my cards and wrapped all but one person’s presents. The reason I like to be done by December 1st stems from back when I was working in retail. I used to work so many hours in December that I had very little time to shop. And when I wasn’t working I was generally pretty tired. So I always got my shopping done by 1st December, and it’s something I’ve pretty much continued to today.

A quartet of movies

I had a pretty good month with going to the cinema in November with three movies ticked off my list. It started off with Maleficient with a friend. The movie had some really good parts but I wasn’t blown away by it. Then me and the same friend saw the Addams Family a week later and I really enjoyed it. I know it’s a kids movie but it made me smile and laugh which is the sign of a great movie.

I went to see Last Christmas with my mum near the end of the month and I really enjoyed it. Now I don’t know if it’s just because I’m getting older, or whether the movie really was that sad but I shed a few tears throughout. So be warned! Then finally me and Luke headed to see La Mans’ 66 and it was even better than I had expected it to be. Although a little long at 2.5 hours!

Two trips into London

I don’t head into London quite as much as I used to, but I managed two trips in November. The first time was mid month when I got round to seeing Everyone’s Talking About Jamie which was incredible. I was honestly blown away by both the story and the talent of the cast. I’m hoping to go back again when Bianca Del Rio is back in the cast in the early new year.

On the final day of November me and Luke headed in early in the morning to join a City Wonders tour around Westminister Abbey and to see the Changing of the Guard. Considering I have been into Londons so much they’re two things I’d never done. I’m trying to tick off as much as possible from my London list and that’s two more things down.

What did you get up to in November?

I’m so jealous of your trip to Vienna. Vienna is a beautiful city. The architecture and history is just amazing, but my favourite part was the cafe culture! Apple strudel with vanilla sauce is so underrated

It always amazes me how much you manage to fit into your months! I don’t think I’ve gone for a meal out or a cinema trip in ages! It sounds like you had a really great month though, and I can’t believe how organised you are!
