A few months ago I spoke about how I’d be using Quidco to make money. But since that post I’ve been using the cashback site a lot more so I thought I’d do a Quidco review. And really delve into what the site is like and how you can make money from simply shopping.
For anyone who doesn’t know Quidco is a cashback website. If you’re going to buy anything online you can search for the site through Quidco and click their link. The link will take you directly to the brands website and it won’t cost you anything extra to order this way. So you’re simply making som extra money for doing the shopping you’d be doing anyway.
If you want to sign up to Quidco and use my link here you can get a £10 welcome bonus. For transparency I get the same welcome bonus too.
Any general shopping I do online now I always head to Quidco. Generally about 80% of the time the website does offer cashback. Although generally not smaller or independant stores. And while the rates may seem low like 1/2% and your order might not be big the odd pounds add up. Sometimes I get £1/£1.50 cashback and Luke asks me if it’s worth it. And I really think it is. This is 100% free money so why not save up all the spare pounds every time you’re able to.
As we’ve been buying loads of stuff for our house I’ve been searching up everywhere online. Most noteably we got a good cashback rate at Victoria Plum where our ensuite came from. This transaction alone which we’d have bought anyway got us about £80 cashback which is amazing.
Now this is where you can really make some money. Before doing this Quidco review I’d never bought any big ticket items through Quidco but now I’ve done 3 and their cashback rates have been £60, £75 and a whopping £250.
These rates tend to come from insurance/ utilities/ financial offerings. So if you’re planning on getting a new broadband provider or phone contract Quidco can get you a good deal. Or if you’re planning on getting insurance you can buy it through Quidco. The larger payouts are generally because you’re then tied in for a certain length of time. For example the £60 was from signing up to Plusnet for our broadband which is on an 18 month contract. And the £75 is from AXA for Luke’s business insurance where we are signed up for a year.
The amazing £250 cashback sum is from Scottish Friendly Investment when I set up a stocks and shares ISA. It’s something I’d been meaning to do for a long time. But seeing the amazing cashback offer it encouraged me to go for it. The payout is specific for the monthly investment amount I opted for. You could have got up to £350 cashback if you invested more per month.
Quidco do deals and special offers quite often so it’s always worth keeping an eye open. For example the Scottish Friendly Investment cashback was on a special offer and if I did the same investment now I’d get £110. And while that’s still great it’s less than half of what I got.
A few weeks ago there was a Curry’s deal where you could activate a £10 bonus if you bought anything over £100 from Curry’s. I did this straight away as we were buying our appliances. But sadly our cashback got declined as we also used a discount code on the website. That’s the one thing you need to remember is that most cashback T&Cs say you can’t get cashback when using a discount code. It’s just one thing to remember.
At the time I’m writing this there’s a Disney+ promo where you get £10 cashback and 15% on an annual subscription which is such a good deal. It’s always worth keeping an eye out on the deals.

I’ve never used a cashback site like this but it sounds like a simple way to save money on purchases.
I always forget to use Quidco, I tend to use Top Cashback. Will try and make sure i check both for the best deal
For bigger purchases I tend to check both just in case one offers better than the other, but generally I find Quidco better x
It sure sounds like a great way to save and earn money too. However, I don’t think that service is available in our area. I wish we did because Quidco sure looks enticing to have.
Are you outside of the UK then Kristine? I’m sure there are cashback sites wherever you are just different ones x
I love Quidco and have so much cashback from them over the years. I highly recommend too!
I tend to use another site more often but I do have a Quidco account and should probably use it more often.
I do love a good cashback site – I do use another so have never tried Quidco. I try and use it each time I shop online, pennies soon add up and it’s a nice treat at Christmas! Sim x
Yes, a nice treat for yourself after buying for other people x
I am a registered Quidco user but I did no know that Quidco also helps to get good deals and compares prices. I have learnt something new today
Ive heard of Quidco but its one that we often forget about, we tend to use other ones just simply because we forget, i will have to check it out.
I think that I may have an account with these, so thank you so much for reminding me as will check this out and see what savings that I can be making x
We have been using Quidco for years and I never buy anything online without checking the site first.
I don’t have a Quidco account but from this blog it seems like it can be useful. I will research more into it.
This looks really interesting. I regularly use both Swagbucks and the money app but have not come across QuidCo before. Will certainly check them out. Thanks!
Like you said, its free money so always worth doing and it sounds like you have managed to make good use of it with the house move etc too. I need to look into Quidco, I have been using TopCashBack but it takes them SO long to pay out on anything (I waited around 8 months for one and on the 5th month waiting for another). Thanks for sharing your experience xx
I have a topcashback account too but didn’t have a great experience with their customer service so I moved over to Quidco. But I do always check top if Quidco isn’t offering cashback just in case, but they generally seem to be the same x
