After the never-ending feeling of January, February 2022 disappeared in the blink of an eye. How it’s now March I have no idea, but I’m glad that we’re closer to springtime as the cold weather is getting to me. And I’m usually a fan of colder weather!
The month started with a lovely press invite to the opening of Boom Battle Bar in Watford. There are now 10 around the country, and I’m glad more things are going to Watford. We got the chance to play augmented reality darts, pool, and the augmented reality batting cage. But there’s also axe throwing, shuffleboard, beer pong, and more. I wasn’t particularly great at anything but it was a really fun evening.
February 2022 was another good month for meals out. Me and my friend did the Wizard Exploratorium afternoon tea near the start of the month. The food was really yummy, although the cocktail we ordered was so strong! But it was a really fun experience with interactive parts and you got the chance to mix your own tea which was quite cool.
We took my parents out to a seafood restaurant in Soho called Randall and Aubain and it was some of the best food I’ve had. And I even had lobster for the first time. It’s nice sometimes to go out and have a super-indulgent meal and truly treat yourselves.
On the opposite side of the scale, there were a few takeaways and meals out with friends as well.
For such a short month I managed to fit in quite a lot of culture and entertainment. Me and Luke headed into London to see 222: A Ghost Story at the start of the month. I’d seen it advertised quite a lot online as I blooming love Giovanna Fletcher and as soon as I knew Luke was interested I rushed to buy tickets as it was only on a limited run. The cast also included Stephanie Beatriz (Rosa from Brooklyn 99), James Buckley (Jay from the Inbetweeners), and Elliot Cowan who I didn’t recognise. And the show was absolutely amazing. I did jump a few times, but it was so engaging and the storyline is amazing. It’s coming back with a new cast in May and I’d 100% recommend it to everyone.
Then we went to see Omid Djalili at our local venue which was a really great evening. I do feel so lucky that we have an awesome venue just a 15-minute walk from our house. The month rounded off with a trip to see Ed Gamble in Bedford which was so funny. I don’t think I’ve cried with laughter so much at a show before.
I made two trips to the cinema in February. Once on my own to see Marry Me which was the fun feel-good movie I didn’t know I needed, and I loved it. Then we headed to see Uncharted which was really fun even though I know nothing about the games. I mainly wanted to go as I like action movies and I’m a big Tom Holland fan, so double tick.
Last month was a great month for TV watching. Love is Blind season 2 came out although I am desperately waiting for the reunion episode now which comes out around when this post goes live. For anyone who has watched it I didn’t like the people/ couples as much as those in season 1 but it’s addictive.
I binge-watched Only Murders in the Building on Disney+ which was a really fun watch about three very different people who all connect around a murder podcast they love and end up starting their own to investigate a murder in their own building. Inventing Anna on Netflix was the next binge-watch and a pretty interesting one based on a real story around a convicted felon Anna who pretended to be a super-rich trust friend kid but swindled others out of money. A similar story in some ways to the Tinder Swindler which was great but left me very angry that Simon is a real guy who is free in the world and not locked away for life.
Another binge-watch was This is Going to Hurt on BBC. I’d read Adam Kay’s books and loved them so I knew I’d enjoy the series, it was both amazingly entertaining but also so depressing to think this is how the NHS can be.
A few shows that are back but drip-feeding us episodes are This is Us which is one of my favourite shows. I’m so interested to see how they tie up all the loose ends this season. And Marvelous Mrs. Maisel which isn’t as strong as its first two seasons but I hope picks up.
It had been a while since I’d gotten a new tattoo but that changed in February 2022 when I added this beautiful Capricorn moon to my arm thanks to an artist called Louise Coleman who I found via Instagram. It was very fresh in the above photo and still in the end stages of healing but I absolutely love it. I’ve already booked in my next tattoo with Louise for May time and I am so excited.
That’s right! Even though my wedding isn’t until May 2023 I found and ordered my wedding dress. As someone plus sized I was a bit worried about how my experience would go, but I found a lovely boutique with great staff and it made all the difference. I can’t believe that I have my dress now, but I’m so in love with it and can’t wait to try it on again when I have my fitting next year.
Our little boys are now 7 and a half months old which is absolutely crazy to me as it doesn’t feel like we’ve had them for more than 5 minutes. Even though they can be a bit naughty at times and give us plenty of mess, getting them was the best decision we’ve made.
As we’re going away at the end of March we went to visit a cattery as the boys will be staying there on a holiday of their own. I’m so happy that we went to see the place before booking it, even if it was the night before a storm so not the best timing.
I wish I had more house updates to share but our garage renovations haven’t started yet, hopefully soon though! Thanks to Eunice we had to buy a bunch of fence panels that we hadn’t planned to buy until post-wedding. So they just need painting and fitting as we can currently walk in four different neighbours’ gardens!
We had an initial consultation about solar power and we’re just waiting on our final quotes. We’d been talking about getting solar ever since we bought our house and with energy prices rising so much it seemed like it was now or never.

It sounds like you had a great February. I love your new tattoo! So pretty!
Thanks x
Sounds like you packed an awful lot into the shortest month!
February does always go so quick! How exciting that you found your wedding dress amongst many other things you managed to pack in.
I cannot believe how quickly the year is starting to go by…January seemed like it was just dragging on but now we’re getting ready for spring and I’m so excited! Sounds like you made the most of the shortest month!
I know exactly what you mean x
I can’t agree with you more, February has just gone so quickly. Glad you made the most of it with live shows, good food a a beautiful tattoo as well
Even though February was short, it sounds like you were very busy! We had a nice February, but I am so ready for spring!
You have me curious about Adam Kay’s books now too. I’m going to take a look.
They’re so good, and a bit more light hearted than the TV show x
I keep hearing about Love is Blind. I may have to watch that soon. The Tinder Swindler upset me so much. I think what made me even more upset was finding out about how someone was trying to give him a deal for a show after the Netflix special came out… like why would anyone want to see his scamming self on another show? He needs to be in jail.
Yeah that part of it did anger me, like how he’s not been locked away in jail and how he’s just living life as normal x
You certainly packed plenty of activities into February! It’s great that places are opening up again as the pandemic recedes.
How on earth did you manage all that!! Makes me want to do everything. Love the tattoo and the Boom Battle bar is close to me so will definitely be checking that out, it does look fun
It’s definitely a fun night out x
