*This post on items for enjoying time with baby girl features some gifted products denoted by an asterix*
Over the last few weeks I’ve shared posts on items we’ve picked up ahead of baby girls arrival in June. I’ve spoken about bathing and hygiene products, and essentials for when you’re out and about. This week I’m back with some items for just enjoying time with baby girl.
Time is going fast enough now, so I can’t imagine how quickly it’s going to disappear when she arrives. So many people have said about enjoying the baby stage because it goes so quickly, and I fully intend to.
Again I will caveat this post by saying I’m a first time mum so haven’t used these products yet, so forgive me if there are any essentials I’ve missed out on.
My parents did baby books for both me and my brother, and I love looking through them. So I’m super excited to build one out for our baby girl. I love the idea of having something physical to hold and flip through and not just digital photos.
This chevron baby book* from Pearhead is going to be so much fun to fill in and provide years of memories.
It has 50 guided journal pages with space for photos and notes documenting milestones and memories. Some of them include notes about mummy and daddy, the pregnancy journey, hospital prints, notes about lots of baby firsts from bath and laugh and crawling and steps. And it goes up to their 5th birthday with space for school bits, first holidays etc. So much to fill in and so many memories to hold.
There’s even a clean-touch ink pad to do a handprint or footprint for the front cover which I love.
I’ve spoken about these adorable comforters before but this time I have Benni Bear* to share with you.
He is super soft and I can’t wait to see her cuddling up with the most adorable bear. There are two food-grade silicone teethers attached so it will be great for when her teeth start to come through. And the knotted ends should help develop her fine motor skills. And for us parents it’s a relief to know it’s hand washable for easy cleaning.
We also have the wild animals baby fabric book* to add to her first book collection. It’s a really cute fabric sensory book with different textures and crinkly sounds alongside really cute animal illustrations. It’s made from 100% organic cotton so is safe if it ends up in their mouth. And it has a detachable silicone ring so it can be attached to a car seat or buggy, or that can act as a teething toy itself.
I find it so crazy to think that after six months she’s going to be old enough to start trying out some solid foods. And it will probably be in the blink of an eye that she’s eating full on meals. So in advance of that we have this five piece bamboo dinner set*. It’s absolutely adorable with a giraffe design across the pieces, and there’s a sectioned plate, bowl, cup, spoon and fork.
The items are made from 100% bamboo fibre making them eco-friendly, toxic free, biodegradable, heat and dirt resistant, and dishwasher safe.
This might not be the very first thing she eats food from, but I love that we have these ready for when she’s ready to join us at the table.
There’s nothing less fun than being ill, and a stuffy nose can make you feel rubbish. And from speaking to friends it seems like babies and toddlers tend to get stuffy noses quite a lot. Which is why these essentials from Snufflebabe are going to come in very handy.
All of the items I’m going to mention below (other than the bubble bath) are suitable from birth which is great.
I’d seen lots about the nasal aspirator* which is a device to help physically clear your baby’s nose for instant relief from congestion through a suction method. And the clever filter prevents any of the gunk from getting into your mouth during the process. And the device is pediatrician approved.
There are loads of other ways to help clear their noses including nasal spray* made from a saline salt solution to clear mucus. There’s nasal drops* with gentle saline to clear their nose. Or there’s vapour oil* full of essential oils to help baby breath clearly.
When they hit three months there’s also vapour bath bubbles* filled with similar essential oils which can be used during bath time.
These are all great ideas. You can NEVER go wrong with bubbles! We had a lot of fun with them at bath time.
Benni Bear is the cutest thing ever! I would definitely get him for my kids if they were still young. TOO cute!
And there’s so so soft! x
The baby book is a must for any parent. I wish we’d done that with my son. We have a ton of photos, but a nice book like that would have been perfect.
I need to remember to continue to print photos out! x
These are all great ideas. Iām sending this to all the girl moms I know as we speak!!
I had no idea congratulations I am loving all these ideas plus one of my best friends daughters is expecting her first baby who is a girl in June. I have got her some bits but will be getting more
Super love these ideas especially the baby book, it would be amazing to keep it and gift it back to the child as a grownup. Amazing idea.
I love all of these great item ideas for babies, especially the baby book. I had ones for each of my daughters, and loved completing them every step they grew.
Building a baby book for a child sounds terrific. Thanks for these lovely ideas!
I loved filling out a Baby book although I never got round to it with No. 2 – juggling two kids meant I was too busy for that kind of thing!
I love the idea of having a physical book as well. I have heard of the Snufflebabe brand, and know a few moms who swear by them!
