My Ultimate Makeup/ Bathroom Storage Solutions

Makeup storage

For a long time I have lusted after an amazing dressing table with endless storage solutions for my makeup and skincare but for me space wise this just isn’t practical. In my flat I have an en-suite with a massive shelf underneath a wall-sized mirror which is where most of my makeup and skincare items live. This works for me but the storage solutions I have can work anywhere.

I am going to start this by saying that yes I have an excessive amount of makeup (although I’ve seen a lot of collections of people who have more), I do have a problem.

Acrylic Storage

To begin with I bought five sets of these acrylic drawers from Ebay which are great storage solutions. I’ve bought them from various sellers as they’re all the same and just gone for the cheapest I can find. These house the majority of my make up and I love how they’re stacked with plenty of space inside. Almost every product fits in these drawers except from my primers (who fit in with a squeeze) and some of my foundations. The great thing about these are they’re thick plastic so feel sturdy and I can group my makeup together, so a few drawers for eyeshadows, a face section with drawers for primer, concealers and powders, highlighters etc.

With one of the sets of drawers I got a top piece which was great as it has a few slots to house my go to base items which includes my favourite two liquid concealers and my higher end foundations. There’s also a handy space in the back corner to house my lip pens. On top of the second set of drawers I have a 36 slot lipstick holder which I was so happy fit on the top of my storage solutions. This houses almost all of my lip products, my liquid lipsticks have a little drawer of their own and a few of my primer/ base/ scrub type lipsticks also have a drawer but this allows me to see all my lipsticks at once to make a quick decision on what to wear.

Brush Storage

On top of the final set of drawers which sits lower I bought a three slot stand which fits my blushers in really well rather than having to put one on top of another in a drawer. I picked this up in Home Sense (part of TKMAXX) because I couldn’t find anything which matched my needs online. It’s a little smaller than the size of the drawers which is great because it means I can slot some well-loved eyeshadow palettes behind them.

Next to the stands I bought a Muji three slot pen holder which holds my foundation/base brushes in one slot, my eyeshadow brushes in another and my lip pencils in the final one. They are super easy to use and it fits into quite a small space. My blusher brushes sit in these two crystal pots which I think are just incredibly pretty and really good value from Wilkinson.

Spice Rack

For a long time I had so many bottles of cleansers, moisturisers, oils, you name it I had it and they were just creating unnecessary mess so I bought this cute spice rack from Matalan and fortunately it fit right on the tiny bit of wall I have. Now all of my potions can sit on here out of the way but easily accessible to me whenever I want to use a product.

Finally to store away all of my less used/ spare skincare products I bought a set of bathroom drawers from Argos which fit neatly in the corner of my bathroom with a drawer for hair products, a drawer for shower products etc. And the great thing is a rose gold basket which I also bought from Matalan fits snuggly right on top to house my large Morphe palette which just doesn’t fit anywhere else, some face cloths, my brush cleaning products etc.

To anyone who stuck this post out to the end I am impressed, it was a long ride!
