Ultimate Bedroom Wishlist – Moving Edition

Bedroom Wishlist

AD - This is a collaborative post but all thoughts and opinions are my own

As we’re officially going to be moving in the next month or so we’ve had to be quite brutal with what we’re going to take with us and what we’re going to get rid of. We’re moving back in with my parents to allow us to save some more before buying our forever home which means there’s only so much we can take there and the rest of our stuff needs to go into storage. As storage is pretty expensive we don’t want to take everything if we don’t need to, plus there are some things we’d just end up replacing when we move anyway. Here are some of the items I’d love to purchase for our bedroom when we do move into our new home.

HEMNES Chest of 6 drawers (£195) in Grey from Ikea is the chest of drawers that I’d love to have as it’s really spacious with lots of drawer space which is perfect for me and Luke who both have too many clothes (mainly me though!) We have a shoe rack which is in this exact design and it looks really nice and the grey colour is a nice alternative to wood which I like for a bedroom. As we have a lot of stuff I love the idea of putting as much of it away so our space looks less cluttered but I’m not sure how well that will turn out.

As long as we have the space beside our beds I’d love to get the matching bedside tables which are the Hemnes Chest of 2 drawers (£90) again in Grey. We bought some new bedside tables earlier this year when we got a new bed and although I love them I like the idea of having matching items and these would work really well in the guest bedroom. As there are two drawers they’re really spacious meaning again I can put away a lot of the clutter which perhaps sits on top of my bedside table now. If we don’t have the space beside then the smaller Hermnes Bedside Table (£55) would work as well but I’d want to get a basket or some storage for the shelves to make it look neater.

Desenio Artwork

Moving away from Ikea bits now I dream of having a small gallery wall in our bedroom ideally behind the bed as a feature wall instead of having wallpaper which might be too overpowering. Of course Desenio is the first place I’d think of looking because I can’t watch an interiors video on YouTube or read a blog without the blogger/ vlogger mentioning the brand. I love the fact that they offer frames as well so I know that they’ll be the exact right size for the prints as I usually end up with gaps at the sides or having to cut them down when I put artwork up.

In the bedroom I’d also love to get sash windows as I think they are much smarter and cleaner than curtains and I think they would lighten up how the space looks. The bedroom is somewhere that I want to feel cozy and relaxing so alongside it being less cluttered I’d love to make the bed even more inviting. We have a lot of greys and natural colours for our bedding as you don’t seem to be able to get thread counted bedding in patterns or nice colours. So to go alongside the bedding I’d love to inject a tiny bit of colour in in the form of a fluffy blanket and a matching pillow. I don’t want to go too crazy as I used to have loads of pillows and it wasn’t practical but just the one nice one in the centre would be right for the aesthetic I want to go for. This fluffy blanket in blush pink would be a nice subtle pop of colour and they do the matching pillow which would work really well.

What would you love in your dream bedroom?

The only thing on my wish list is a beautiful headboard and footboard. I am sick of having a plain Jane bed,

I have both the HEMNES sets of drawers in white but I have to admit I love it in grey! My whole house is painted light grey so it would match perfectly.

I love looking at bedroom wishlists. I am not in a bedroom shopping time of my life yet, but will be in the near future.

All of these things look great, I am far from having a nice room. Every night before I get in my bed, I have to move the toys that my child has put in there!

This is a great list of things for the bedroom. I love the dresser, and I would really love some more art in my room as well. Just things to accent the walls.

Ikea is one of my favorite stores! I’m a simple kind of guy when it comes to decorating the bedroom, dark woods and plenty of organizational storage makes me happy!

I love bedrooms! They are such a chance to make everything cozy, and the gray furniture is so pretty!
